Magic bullet looks black screen fix3/28/2024 I put my Aorus 1080Ti back in, PERFECT, much much slower overall in VR BUT STABLE.Īnyway to cut a long story short, it turns out to be indeed a POWER ISSUE allrighty, PARTICULARLY IF YOU ARE OVERCLOCKING. As we have seen with others online, it made NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL. I changed my psu for a Antec 850Watt Bronze quality psu and powered the MSI Trio 6800XT from the independant 12v2 rail, so it was the ONLY device on it with 40 amps of current available totally. I was stunned as i knew the card worked perfectly on my seperate i7 FS2020 pc so suspected it was a power issue. Glitching in Beat Saber and the dreaded Black Screens of Death in American Truck Simulator. I also own a seperate i5 8600K PC overclocked to 5ghz on an ASUS ROG Maximus 8 that I use almost solely for VR so I simply removed its perfect Aorus 1080Ti and installed this MSI Trio 6800XT card in that rig and BOY was I impressed in VR once I found a compatible AMD driver that worked with SteamVR, 21.2.3 I think.Īnyway BANG, problems regarding stability on this setup occurred in VR during about 15 to 30 minutes of use. So I purchased a 24GB Vram equipped Nvidia 3090 and that solved all my issues but I NEVER OBSERVED A SINGLE Black Screen of Death on the MSI Trio 6800XT on this PC in about a month of HEAVY USE. I drive 3 x 43 inch 4k screens with this setup but ultimately found that the 16GB of ram in the TRIO 6800XT was simply NOT ENOUGH for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. It performed much better than my previous AsuS STRIX 1080 8GB in my FS2020 i7 7th GEN RIG overclocked to 4.8ghz BUT with a 1200Watt 4 x 8 PIN PCIE SLI supporting PSU. I was lucky enough to find a MSI 6800XT TRIO in February and it shipped with the 103 bios rather than the very flaky 102 bios. so i wonder if this is similar.Ĭlick to expand.Errr guys, RMAing these cards is not the solution as it is most LIKELY that there is NOTHING wrong with the cards. Nvidia has a similar issue with GPU restart nvlddmkm. No heat issues GPU idles fanless on 33c and around 60c while gaming Ryzen3600/ Ballistix 2x8GB 3200 on xmp/ MSI B450 Gaming plus Max/ nvme WD 500gb+ ssd WD 1tb + hdd WD 6tb/ psu Corsair M850x (2 separate 8pin cables used)/ monitor LG 32GN600 using DP cable 1.4 / all items are less than a year old My system is on stock speeds, no overclock. I checked and there are no errors logged in windows event viewer.īlack screen didn’t happen during a couple of hours gaming and bench marking (so far). i cannot get the signal back and the only way to fix the situation is a hard restart. monitor loses signal and turns off but pc keeps running (fans and LEDs on. today since morning i had 3 times black screen randomly while using Chrome. ect) all was fine and scores in most games were higher than the 3070 ( wildlands and Origins scored less :/ )Īnyway. I ran benches (3dmark, RDR2, wildlands, AC Origins, Hitman2. Removed nvdia drivers with DDU and turned off the system, swapped cards and installed new AMD drivers. Yesterday i replaced my RTX3070 with RX6800XT both MSI Gaming X Trio
